Edition policy

We show an edition number on every public blog post. The web is not immutable. When we change the facts, you should be able to see that we did.

What an edition means

Edition is a shared revision number for a post and all of its language editions. It rises when the substance changes: claims, steps, product truth, or advice you would act on.

Typos, formatting, and link polish do not bump the edition. Those fixes still update the revised date when we touch the file.

Language editions

Africa-first publishing means real pages in Yorùbá, Hausa, Igbo, Kiswahili, Français, Nigerian Pidgin, and more as we add them. Each language is a curated edition of the same article, not a machine-translate overlay.

Wording-only fixes in one language can bump a locale edition without changing the shared factual edition. If the facts change, every language edition should move to the new shared edition.

Why we do this

Transparency is part of how Kolanut builds. If we teach self-hosting, classification, or classroom language packs, the page you cite should admit when the advice changed.
